White Barn Family Maternity Session, West Richland, Washington

Misty and Tony are repeat customers, and you can read more about them here and here to see how long we’ve known each other.  Last summer they bought some property in West Richland with Tony’s brother and his family, and this year they wanted family photos at the old barn on the property.

Guys, get ready for some of my favorite photos from this fall!

Out in their fields there is a really great, old, whitewashed barn, and it was the perfect place for a photo session (So perfect in fact, I might get to do mini sessions here next fall!)!  I fell in love immediately, and I think you can see why!

Their kids, Reese and Ellie could not wait to show me around the place.  We explored the pile of hay bales, and they told me all about the cows, and all the other fun stuff out there.  Seriously, these two are SO photogenic, and know exactly what to do when they get in front of the camera.

Their little sister Everly though, wasn’t too sure about me, and was definitely NOT interested in smiling for me!  Sometimes it takes kids, especially little ones, some time to warm up to the idea of having me there with a big scary camera, sometimes acting goofy, and trying to get smiles.  It’s totally okay!  We let Everly take the lead on whether she was ready for photos without mom right there, and by the end we even got some smiles!  I’m so glad we had a full hour to work together.  Sometimes a mini-session is just not enough warm up time!

The bonus to this session is that these three kiddos are getting a baby sibling later this winter!  Misty was just starting to show, so we made sure we highlighted her growing bump!  I was there to document them when she was expecting Everly, so getting to be there again was extra special.

Misty and Tony, thank you for bringing me out to your amazing property–this was such a special location!  I’m grateful to get to document your sweet family as it grows, and I just can’t wait until your new little one is in your arms!
