Extended family session with my 4th grade teacher!

Things I remember about the 4th grade at Sacajawea Elementary:  A research report about the Everglades, and the animals I made out of Sculpey for the presentation, a travel agency project in which I had to cold-call a real travel agent in Alabama to ask for some travel brochures about the state (and the anxiety and tears over that phone call!!), and my teacher, Mrs. Hedden.  She was kind, she was sweet, and I remember her smile and laughs.  And you guys, she’s still exactly like this!

A few weeks ago, I got to photograph Mrs. Hedden, her husband, Don, and all their kids and grandkids!  I think I maybe hadn’t even seen Mrs. Hedden since about the 4th grade, so this was a big reunion!  I’ve known her daughter, Julianne for years since we both worked at Hanford High, and it was so special to meet and photograph the whole extended family.

Lynette and Don, thank you for bringing your whole family out for photos!  It’s a pretty special thing to see a teacher again after so long (I’m not going to say how long ago 4th grade was for me…eek!).  Thank you for making me call a total stranger in another state in the 4th grade, and making me be brave.  It was probably the first time I had to do something that scary, and you helped show me I could do it.  Thank you!  You have such a beautiful family, and your grandkids are just adorable!  I hope you cherish these photos and hang them up where you can see them every day!

Thank you so much for capturing these! I don’t know how you always get the best pictures of the kids but I love it! You’re the best!

  2. Lynette Hedden says:

First of all, these pictures are wonderful! You are such a talented photographer! You a master at capturing your subjects. As l look at these, I can see the love or family had for each other and the fun we have together. Thank you so much for taking the time to capture these feelings.

Also, reading your kind words made my day! It’s always fun (and scary sometimes) to hear how my students remember their time with me. I’m glad that I was able to help you grow by challenging you, but I hadn’t meant to cause you anxiety and
    tears. Yikes!!

I will continue recommending you to all my friends when they are looking for a photographer for any occasion.
