Summer Evening Senior Guy on the Columbia, Richland Washington

Kicking off senior season with Dom, Hanford High class of 2025!

When I was a high school teacher, I mostly taught freshmen and sophomores, and every so often some of them would come back and visit me during their senior year.  It was always the best shock to see the transformation that happens in just a couple of years–from a squirrely adolescent to a totally chill and confident young adult.  It’s the same when I meet the amazing young people who come to me for senior sessions.  I’m so impressed with these kids, and Dom was no exception!

Dom wanted to incorporate his involvement with the Columbians Drum and Bugle Corps into his senior photos, so he brought his instrument, the contrabass bugle (marching tuba)!  Let me tell you, this is an impressive instrument!  First, it’s HUGE, so you’d have to be strong to haul it around, and the sound it can make can just about knock you over.  It’s amazing to see, and I was so glad he demonstrated it for me!

We chose a spot down by the Columbia River with some brushy stuff for variety, and I just love the diversity of images we were able to capture in a short amount of time.  It helps to bring along a prop to your senior session.  Props not only help capture the uniqueness of you, but also help us pack a punch into your session and get lots of different images.  Plus it’s really fun for me to be able to get creative with the stuff you bring!

Dom, thank you so much for coming to see me for your senior photos.  Enjoy the rest of your summer, and good luck with your final year!
