When I was first starting out photographing for other people, most of my clients were people I knew, and occasionally people that heard about me from a mutual friend. More and more though, especially with the help of this blog, and my google page, people I have no prior connection with are finding me, and it’s just been the biggest surprise to me! I’ve had people from Seattle, Tacoma, and now Texas reach out about photographs while they are in town visiting family.
John reached out a few months ago about pictures with his whole extended family while he and his wife were in town visiting for the Fourth of July. He found me through Google, all the way from Austin, Texas! Cool!
I’ve been realizing more and more that meeting random strangers, and spending time with them to photograph their family is one of the best parts about this little business. I never know who I’m going to get to meet that day, and so far it always turns out to be the most amazing people! By the end of the hour we’ve had so much fun, I feel like we’re friends and we’re sad it has to end.
That’s how it felt with the Cornelisons.
Such a fun family, and a big bunch of kids which always brings chaos and joy to big family sessions! John and his three brothers wanted to get photos with their parents and all seven grandkids! I could just tell this family shared a lot of love, and it was such an honor to get to know them, and capture these photos for them. Business by nature is always a little bit transactional, but we know we’re winning when it doesn’t feel that way. That’s what I hope it feels like for my clients too.
John, thank you for taking a chance on me, all the way from Texas, and thank you to your whole family for allowing me into your space and time. What an incredible and fun evening we had together. I hope these memories last you for many years to come!
Awe! I love it!! I knew Kaitlyn before she got married! Such a great family!
