One of the best feelings in this biz is when clients come back for more photos. I first met Susan and Matt, and little Isla back in 2021, for a maternity session when they were expecting. Later that summer, I got to do an in-home lifestyle newborn session with them and meet sweet little baby Rhys. And now, a year later, more photos, and Rhys is already ONE! Seeing this sweet family grow and then grow up is just the biggest thrill.
Susan booked this session last year during my Black Friday sale, and we got it scheduled for August. We opted for a sunrise session partly because her kids are early risers, and little kids are usually happiest at this time of day, rather than during our late summer sunsets, but also because it’s just really dang hot out this time of year! Even with our early start, we were glad to wrap up this session when we did because it was getting toasty! We went down to Leslie Groves park, right along the Columbia River in Richland, WA. It’s definitely spider season down there, but I did a little scouting and decided it wasn’t too bad, if we stayed out from under the trees. And I think it was a good call, their images are gorgeous!
Susan, and Matt, thank you for inviting me back to document your lives! It’s been amazing to get to know you all, and it’s just the best feeling when clients feel like friends. I can’t wait to see how much the kids have grown when I see you next!
