We went out of town to visit family over the fourth of July weekend. We got to spend some quality time with my dad and step-mom in Anacortes, and also with my husband’s parents in Marysville. We also got to see my husband’s sister and her family, who live nearby in Lake Stevens! We hadn’t seen them since before Covid, and so this was our first time meeting our sweet little niece, Valentine!
We actually did this session on the fourth, as the day before was super rainy! But I scoped out a nice looking park nearby and we went for it! You might not know, but a style guide is included in your session. It’s there to help you prepare not only what to wear, but how to coordinate with your family, how to prepare your partner and kids, and just general expectations for how photo sessions go. I think it’s super helpful, but it’s totally not a requirement! The most important thing is that you feel beautiful and comfortable, so wear clothes you love! So, Ellen picked out some fun lobster-themed outfits for her and the kids! My sister-in-law Ellen has style like no other, and she LOVES bright colors, so these outfits were perfect for them, and they were festive for the holiday too!
Ellen and Josh, I’m so glad we got to catch up again after so long not seeing you and the kids! Thanks for staying flexible with me, as I figured out where to shoot over there, and figure out how the light would be! Your crew is so much fun, and it’s super special to be their Auntie! Looking forward to our visit with the whole family in a few weeks!!
