I’m so excited to share this family maternity session with you today! Katherine scored my Black Friday deal last November and we scheduled a session for this spring. Of course, she wasn’t pregnant when she booked this with me, so I had no idea she was expecting until she showed up! She was interested in a session at Blue Mountain Lavender Farm near Walla Walla, WA, and photographing there was a dream of mine so we booked it! And then we got more crazy spring weather… I’ve already mentioned that this spring has been so much cooler and wetter than usual, and we had to reschedule this session twice because of rain. But I’m so glad we stayed flexible, because we got a STUNNING night at the farm!
The girls were a little unsure about me at the beginning of the session, but I offered Lucy the very important job of holding the reflector, and then she was all-in! Family sessions definitely go at whatever pace the kids set, and I’m happy to take the time to make sure everyone is as comfortable as possible, happy, and having fun. I know it can be a big stressor for parents to get everyone cooperating and smiling (believe me, I’ve been on the other side of the camera with my boys, and I know exactly how it feels!), and sometimes it doesn’t go perfectly, but we still caught some smiles, and really captured their beautiful family at this moment in time.
Katherine and Cameron, thank you so much for staying flexible with all the rescheduling we had to do (totally worth the wait, I think!)! Your session at the lavender farm was such a dream! You two were so fun, and warm, and it was a privilege to capture your growing family! Your girls are beautiful, and full of personality, and I can’t wait to see who you’ll be adding to your squad next!
What a DREAM! Such a beautiful location! And such a darling family!
