Late Summer Family at Chamna Natural Preserve

My third time capturing the wonderful Steward Family!

Peggy contacted me about squeezing in a session while all her kids were home, and it made me remember that the first time I photographed them all her kids lived at home, and since then they’ve grown up a lot, and they’ll even be gaining a daughter-in-law next summer! Congrats!

Last time, we went for an epic location, but this year we stayed closer to home and had their family session at Chamna–it’s always nice at Chamna!

For whatever reasons, sometimes families with older kids don’t make family photos a priority like they did when the kids were small and the family was growing, but capturing the big kids is still so important!  There’s a graph circling the internet that shows the sharp decrease in time spent with your parents after about the age of 18.  It’s a little bit sad to see as a parent, but also totally normal, of course.  So when your big kids are all home, and the family is all together again, it’s SO nice to capture those moments on camera too, even if they aren’t so little anymore.

Steward family, thank you for getting together for photos this summer!  I know next summer you’ll have a wedding to bring you all together, and I’m so excited for you all.  It’s a big milestone!  I hope these sweet summer photos will remind you of the time just before the family grew again.  I hope you’ll come see me again to capture what life looks like in a couple of years!
